The Concert chapter 2 part 2

He shook hands with Elena and sat on the edge of the bed and picked up a lamp. "Since you've regained consciousness, I have to do a few tests on you. Can you follow my finger with your eyes? "I obediently did what he said and we ran the tests. "Hm," he finally said. I bit my lip. "Everything seems fine. We took the bullet from your shoulder. But it has summarized a few things. There is a lot of damage to your shoulder muscles. Your arm needs to rest a lot if you want this to heal properly. I can't say for sure that your shoulder will make a full recovery, but you're still young so I think you'll be fine. I'll keep you here another day for observation. The operation was not that easy, since the bullet was deep and near an artery. You were really lucky that it was missed. Furthermore, there is the blow to the head, there is no real wound, fortunately, but there is a cut and a big bump. You have a concussion from the blow, so don't be surprised if you…" I felt another wave of nausea. I quickly turned my head to the edge of the bed. A sour, bitter taste spread through my mouth and cold sweat spread across my body. "Must throw up." Emerald finished. "Luckily we just put a bucket there just to be on the safe side. Lynn, the police want need to talk to you, then you can go to sleep."

"It won't be long, I promise." Elena said quickly. He signaled to the window and a small, broad cop walked in. “Good afternoon. I'm Agent James Nerrol. But call me James." He said in a gruff voice. He was a little older and had a gray mustache. I gave a little nod. “Lynn, was it?" Again I nodded softly. "Do you remember what happened Lynn?" He took out a notebook and a pen and stared at me. I took a deep breath and told ,yet again, what had happened. I started to sweat and my shoulder started to throb. "Not much longer, officer, she's getting tired." The officer nodded.

"That was very brave of you Lynn. We were able to catch the killer because you stopped him long enough after the shot, and we are grateful for that. "

"Why did he do it? And how did he actually get in? I mean, there was a check at the entrance. "I asked curiously.

"The young man was already in the system because of riots kicking at k-pop concerts. He was targeting one of the band members, because he used to write songs with him, and in the end he didn't make it through the audition. In my view, it is just another person who takes things too seriously. The investigation revealed that he entered through an unguarded side entrance and then mingled in the audience. "The officer shook his head. "But you can be proud of yourself. You saved lives." He gave a short nod, turned and walked out the door, closing my eyes.

"Go to sleep Lynn, you need it." Emerald said, but I was already gone.

The next morning I was wide awake. I sat up and picked up a book Elena had left for me. I carefully stroked the cover of the book. It was the new volume of my favorite book series. Glad I opened the book and went to read it. A little while later the nurse came in with my breakfast.

"Hi Lynn, how are you feeling?" I smiled. "I feel fine." The smell of freshly baked bread rolls entered my nose. "Hm, that smells good!" I said happily and grabbed a sandwich.
